I am not a professional, I repeat I am not a professional but maybe I should seek a professional? My mudding efforts have failed me. You can still see the seems of the drywall. Yes, this is a back laundry room and no one hangs out there but I would like it to look better. I called a so-called professional and his quote was $350 to re-mud the ceiling. Is it me but does that seem a little steep? It's kinda stressing me thinking about it . . . Any advice?

mudding sheetrock is hard. i think you are brave to have attempted it. and it doesnt look too bad. you could also apply that thick textured white wallpaper.
Beadboard or beadboard wallpaper from lowes?
I agree with Shannon about the bead board. A creative solution is always better than the obvious, however I would pay a little extra to have it done right. Make sure to get 3 quotes. You'll be surprised at the differences in people!
I thought about beadboard but the ceiling curved. I've never heard of beadboard wallpaper, I'll have to look into it. That's a good idea about getting 3 quotes. I'm just so used to doing everything ourselves :) Thanks for the advice!
I dunno your technique but Dad always used a wide knife (10-12 inches) to float the sheetrock seams.
One coat of mud to stick the paper tape down. Another to skim it out. Sand it gently. Skim it out again. Sand again.
Good luck!
