Workin' at the Car Wash

R insists that H be able to take care of the car before we get him one of his own. The little guy is growing up so fast that he is already pushing for one by helping with the washing. Good thing we have age limits on our side or he would be driving by his sixth birthday. R kind of hopes this happens so that he can drive daddy and uncle Ciege around. Fat chance!

Quack Quack

This is not an art gallery. The occupants of this home are seriously behind the whole Ducks Unlimited thing. This picture does not do it justice. This is only half of the view when you come in the front door. R says that each of these usually run several hundred dollars. Quack indeed!

Ham Bone

Sometimes I try to catch H doing something that I think is cute. Well, he usually sees the camera and instantly starts mugging for the shot. Either way we are happy with the results.

Beware of Cat

We spent the evening touring houses again. This home owner was very concerned that Maurice The Cat might con us into getting him the keys to freedom. Click on the photo to read the full details.

Shape It Up

R and I have been wanting to run in Race for the Cure for a while now. Well, if either one of us is going to make it 5k then we will have to see a lot more of this.

Personal Assistant

My mom and I were personal assistants to my sister today. She's working on a tight budget and is hunting for 70's ties and shirts. We found a couple of options at the Junk Queen and sent her the pics so we'll see if we make the cut. Check out her blog Costume Woodshedding to learn more about the world of costume designing.

Date Night

We were lucky and had a chance to sneak off to the movies today. I tried to get the full screen of the title but it was too much motion for my slow shutter speed. I read the book "Angels and Demons" a couple of years ago and it had been long enough for me to enjoy the movie. The views of Rome brought back memories of my time in Italy.

Run Forest Run

Forest Gump lives on our road. He's been running around our lake for as long as I've known (20 years). Every weekday you'll find him completely out of breath looking like he can't go any further. I kind of wonder if he enjoys it or if it's an obsession . . .

Exhaustion

Someone is pretty worn out. He didn't notice us moving him from the stroller to the car.

Graduation Night

This was one of the most beautiful high school graduations I have ever attended. The weather was perfect and the mountain made a great backdrop. Congratulations bdub!

Local vs. Organic

There's a summer produce stand I've had my eye on for years. I don't know why I've never stopped but I finally made an effort today. I couldn't resist the fresh green beans and new potatoes. Lately, I've been reading and listening to discussions about Local vs. Organic and reducing your carbon footprint. Today, I was happy to support a local merchant.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Yes, that's what little girls are made of. Here's the latest cutest baby on the block. Miss E is 7-months and a total laid back sweetheart. She's trying to figure out the whole crawling thing. I give her parents 3 more weeks before the baby proofing panic starts.

With A Little Help

Harrison had a big adventure today at a local park. An arched bridge! The bridge was a little scary at first but with daddy's assistance, he conquered it.

In Bloom

Outside of our front door is a hydrangea bush and it's finally blooming (yeah). Here's a different perspective shot from below. The afternoon light shows off the veins in the leaves.

Out and About

We had a lovely afternoon touring open houses until we found another dream house way out of our prices range. The day was complete after a stop at one of our favorite pizza spots. Here's an interior shot of the front door.

Chomp, Chomp

Check out them molars on this child! Two top and two bottom. He's hoping he'll be able to eat anything by 18 months :)

Toddlerhood

Welcome to toddlerhood, a place where you turn your back for 5 seconds then turn back around only to realize your lil' monkey has left the planet. H decided to climb through the shoe basket to get to the other side. I had to laugh (so silly) and spot him to make sure he didn't fall and bump his noggin. I wonder what tomorrow will bring . . .

Celebrations

Today, May 14th was a day of celebrations. First, we tied the knot 4 years ago today! I guess because we've been together for 8 1/2 it seems longer (this is a good thing). Harrison turned 13 months and officially is into everything. AND Ryan's dad's surgery went very well and he's on an upward hill towards recovery.

For The Birds

We've had so much rain recently the bird seed is starting to sprout! I had to laugh because it appears this frog is growing a beard.

30 Seconds

Here's a series of photographs over the course of 30 seconds (not minutes but seconds). Someone seems to be gaining speed.

Where's Lucy?

Lucy has decided that under the coffee table is her "base" from Harrison. Unfortunately for her, he's figured out how to crawl under there. It's a love-hate relationship.

Discovering Rain

As I mentioned the other day, it's been raining and raining and raining (you get the picture). However to a one-year-old, this provides a new learning opportunity. Rain drops falling from the eaves are easier to catch and no less fascinating than the ones from the clouds.

Look Out Below

Now that's what I call a wind breaker! About a month ago, a wind storm ruined Ryan's home court advantage.

Grandpa's Tractor

The lighting was perfect last weekend for a shot of Grandpa's tractor. He purchased it quite a few years ago and we wondered if he would ever get it in working condition. It took some time, but it has a new life in the garden with him.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for grandpa during this time.

Nature Part Duex

I've been into nature photography lately. Here's a shot of a beautiful, dying banana tree. I love the way the husk weaves in and out. It really caught my eye.

Ring The Wrong Number

Harrison has now mastered the phone (cell and landline). On Ryan's cell, he tends to dial 5224, not really sure who this French woman is but he seems to like her. His new game with the cordless phone is to press the locator button then grab the phone and say "holla". So if you ever receive calls from us, there's a good chance we aren't on the other end.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I thought we escaped the rain but it hasn't been the case for the past week. Here's an image from the boat dock covered with debris. Quite a few bottles were washed up also. Sometimes I wonder how hard it is to find a trash can, apparently very.

Ladies Man

Our son, the ladies man. He's making the moves on Andria by head butting her. The lil' man gots game.

Nature's Wonders

On my walk, I stumbled upon this beautiful/strange looking leaf. As I point out things in nature to Harrison, I'm being to really appreciate all of its remarkable diversity. I encourage you to take a few minutes today and enjoy it.

Collection of Photos

Tonight at a local restaurant, this arrangement of photographs caught my eye. I love black and white images and thought this was a great display for them. I'll have to remember this when decorating our house.
