Sibling Portraits

Just chillin' on the front porch swing soaking up some autumn rays.

This is my most recent attempt at a bro and sis portrait. It's getting better but not quite there yet.

Harrison refused to smile no matter how much I begged him. Maybe I'll get it next month.

Costume Time

Harrison is geared up for Halloween. He saw this SWAT team costume at the store and really wanted it but they didn't have his size. We found it online but I was hesitate to get it b/c I think he's kinda young to be part of the SWAT team. So I asked him what a SWAT team member does? He said they catch alligators and snakes! Here he is in his "Alligator Hunter" costume. If you look closely, that's a rubber gator in his hands. I think I'll design some kind of patch to place over SWAT :)

Since he's three-years-old, we normally give him three options to choose from (ie grapes, bananas or apples). Well, he thinks he needs three costumes this year! I'm sure I'll think of something . . .

Website Wednesday - none

Sorry people, I don't have a Website Wednesday this week because I'm too busy on Pinterest pinning. I just started following someone named Celina Poole and it's taking me awhile to browse her boards. Is anyone following someone that I need to know about?

I start back to work tomorrow. I can't believe it's already been 12 weeks since Waverly entered our lives. She fits in with the family perfectly and I can't imagine us without her!

Before I Die I Want To . . .

What do you want to do before you die? Here's a couple answers from a building downtown- go to a world cup (good one), live it up, meet sting, ask God to watch over my family, party rock & roll, make lots of $, travel the world . . .

Penguin at Church?!!

Harrison's pre-school put a special performance today at church and guess who made an appearance? A penguin from the zoo! The kiddos were so excited.

Can you spot Harrison? He's the one in the middle. Ya know, the one that appears to be picking his nose! Only kidding, I'm sure he was just satisfying an itch ;)

Headin' Downtown

Who can resist a jump house? I think Harrison patiently waited in line for 30 minutes. As you can tell, it was worth the wait.

Next stop, we saw the Lego exhibit by artist Nathan Sawaya. Really amazing! It was extremely hard for Harrison not to touch and play with them (or have a hurricane hit them).

Waverly was able to squeeze in several naps today :)

AH, there's my Robin Hood. This was our first time shooting the bow and arrow and it was fun.

Who knew, Maid Marian was a better shooter! Ha ha! Bring it on!

Carrier Girl

We used this baby carrier a ton with Harrison and now Waverly is finally big enough to strap on!

The County Fair!

Harrison enjoys his first visit to the fair today. This robot shirt cracks me up every time he wears it!

I guess I haven't seen that many pigs before, I was surprised to see this color combination. Pretty cool.

This big guy wanted to go home with us. Sorry, no room in the car for you.

Whatcha ya lookin' at?!

Bad Idea

Ryan saw a guy loading up this car with lumber and he said "bad idea." Mental note, don't drive behind him!

Mixing Plants

I wish I could say this was mine! I'm still new to gardening and haven't been able to figure out what plants I can mix in a pot together. This arrangement is definitely eye-catching!

Miles of Smiles

We're seeing more and more of these smiles each day!

Harrison has been saying the funniest things lately, here's a few:

I asked Ryan if he knew what the weather was going to be and H responded:
"No, he doesn't. He's not a weather man."

"Be quiet, I'm trying to cry!" (hmm)

Mimi B and H were mixing up poppy seed muffins. She said she would grease the first 3 holders and he could do the other three. Well, she got carried away and was on number five when H said:
"I don't suppose you're going to let me do any of those."

Paper Designs

I was browsing a new shop today and was inspired by this design. The owner took pages from a book and wrapped a frame in them. Then she folded pages accordion style then halved it to create a circle. I think she probably used tea to dye some of the pages. Pretty cool, huh?

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

It's official, little Waverly is rolling! She moves from her back to belly. Her she is napping on her side, which I think is her favorite position.

Santa's Watching

For Show & Tell this week, Harrison brought his photo with Santa. I saw him studying the picture and then he said to me, "I just don't know what happened to my curls!"

This little guy is already pretty excited about Christmas. I think we've read Twas the Night Before Christmas three times in the past week!

Website Wednesday - This Old House

Click HERE to begin your DYI adventures at This Old House. We started receiving the magazine a couple months ago and I love it (new fav). You don't have a to have a 100 year old house to enjoy the site. The 10 Uses for Wax Paper has great tips. Check it out!

Waverly's Changing Table

Here's an update on Waverly's changing table/dresser. I was going to paint it but after sanding it I liked what I saw. I removed the mirror and added a homemade burlap bulletin board. Once I move her into this room, I'll add the changing pad to the top of the dresser. It's starting to come together!

Believe or Not - Bug in the Ear

Did you hear about the St. Louis Cardinals player who had to leave the game because he had a bug in his ear! Click HERE to read more about it. Well, I could relate. When I was in high school, I was waiting outside for my friend Heather to pick me up and a small insect flew into my ear. It's the WORST sound ever. I tried to get in out on my own but it didn't work. We went to a walk-in clinic but they said we had to go to the ER. By the time we made it to the ER, I couldn't hear it anymore but they used a giant turkey-baster looking instrument to flush it out.

What are the chances of a bug flying in your ear. Well, pretty good if you ask me! Tonight, a moth flew into Ryan's ear! The sound was driving him INSANE!!! I really thought he was going to smash his head into the wall. I had to do some quick thinking since we don't have a turkey baster. I was using anything I could think of but nothing work. Finally, he drove himself to the ER and they were able to remove it. Ya know the craziest part is, it was still alive!!! Well, for one second before Ryan smushed it. I guess if I was a bug, I would want to hang out with us too.

Lucy is falling apart!

The the way to school, here was the conversation:

H: Lucy is old and falling apart.

Me: Well, we've had her for a long time. Why do you say she's falling apart?

H: Oh, Dada and I were petting her last night and parts kept on falling off.

Me: What parts?

H: We need a new cat. One who doesn't have claws and can sleep with me.

Hmmm, maybe there's a kitten in our future?!

2 Months!

Look at our little cutie pie! She's still such a happy baby and we're very lucky.

Here are her stats from the doctor's visit yesterday, 23.25 inches (83%), 11 lbs. 2 oz. (60%) and head circumference 14.75 inches (19%). The doc said she's tall and slender :)

Website Wednesday - Pinterest

This is probably my favorite Website Wednesday! Click HERE to look at my boards on Pinterest. A couple people told me about this site but it wasn't until last week, I finally had a chance to figure it out. It's like a digital scrapbook of anything you like/love. It's awesome for people who like to be organized! You can add to your boards from Pinterest or by surfing the internet. For instance, if I'm on someone's blog, I can click my "Pin It" button and it will add a photo with the link to my boards. Trust me, play around with it and you'll be addicted! I was up until midnight the other night then I forced myself to hit the sack. Unfortunately Waverly woke up 5 minutes later :) I have to limit my time on there now!

FYI, you need a Facebook or Twitter account to set up your own page. I am one of three people in the entire world who isn't on FB so Lucy decided to set up here own Twitter account. It's LucyCat3 if anyone cares :)

Park Time

We're taking full advantage of my favorite time of year! I read recently someone considers autumn the beginning of the year. I like that.

These two look so much alike to me. Too bad she's going to be a mama's girl! Ha ha!

Aren't these swings cool? Do you think H is having a good time?! I think his hair gets crazier ever day.

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Do you remember the Mary Poppins song "Let's Go Fly A Kite"? It's very catchy and will stay in your head all day. This afternoon we had a decent wind and beautiful weather so we had our first kite adventure. After about five minutes, Harrison was ready to go back to the playground.

Kiddos at the Same Age

Harrison

Waverly

Here's a shot of the kids around the same age. I love looking at their similarities and differences. I think they both have my chin.

The Boyfriend

At last, we finally were introduced to the boyfriend and he passed with flying colors. Miss Waverly spent about 3 hours in his arms one day and Harrison warmed up to him pretty fast. Can't wait to see them again!

Carabiner Hook

I read about this cleaver idea in a magazine. Good thing I have a climber husband who let me borrow one of his carabiners. It fits perfectly on the stroller to hold the diaper bag and my purse.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Ryan's birthday was yesterday and we celebrated with carrot cake and chocolate frosting (Harrison's idea). He's perfecting the frosting of the cake step.

Happy Birthday Ryan! We love you more and more each day. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father of our children.
