Craig's List

Throughout this move, I've managed to clear out some of our belongings. We lived on a fairly busy street so sometimes I would just set items on the corner and time how long it would take before someone would snatch it up. This actually was pretty entertaining. One person decided to leave the "FREE" sign but take their new treasure. Another way of de-cluttering was through Craig's List. I sold everything I posted within one day! The photo above is my photo enlarger with which I've decided to part ways, it is a little sad. I can remember spending hours and hours in the dark room just hoping I had the right exposure. I'm fully digital now.

Spreading It

We have a good friend, who will remain anonymous, who is crazy for pimento spread. He's so silly because he tries to deny it but the first time we went over to his apartment, the gigantic family size container sat half empty in his fridge. Pimento spread is one of those foods that has a unusual flavor and texture. Deviled eggs are also in the group.

House Hunting

After spending all day touring houses, we finally made a decision . . . okay so this house isn't remotely in our price range but I thought it would make for good dream home picture. From the outside, it looks like the owner is remodeling. Someday, I would LOVE to renovate an older home but that dream will have to wait until we have more time and money, maybe in 2030?

The Joy of Clapping

As an adult, there are so many mundane activities we do each day that we take for granted. H finally figured out clapping today and he couldn't be more excited. It's pretty cute watching him examine each hand and slowly bringing them together. Bravo, Bravo!

Lazy Sunday

Nothing better than sitting on the porch swing with a loved one feeling the semi-cool breeze on a spring morning. These two are the neighborhood watch dogs and will let you know who drove down the road and what they were up to. Nothing gets by them.

Mud Bugs

Welcome to the south! One of my favorite meals is a crawfish boil. On Saturday, we had 20 lbs. of spicy crawfish with potatoes, corn, mushrooms, keilbasa and freshly brewed iced tea. They could have used a little more stink but maybe next time :)

Planting Season

Tomatoes, tomatoes and more tomatoes. The boys spent the morning digging holes for the tomato plants. I think they have 8 varieties and 104 plants! We'll finally have plenty of ingredients to perfect a salsa recipe.

Hush Little Baby

The past couple of weeks have been really exhausting for everyone including Mr. Harrison. I love watching him sleep. So peaceful and sweet only to be interupted by "meowing" or molar pain.

Moving Day

Today was so busy I didn't have time to pull out the camera. This Harrison photo (taken almost exactly a year ago) reminded me of how we all felt at the end of the day. We survived it but I secretly wished I could scream without anyone looking at me or locking me up :)

Four Generations

Old Brown Couch has been passed among family members for years (maybe even decades). According to Ryan, this is the world's most comfortable couch. I know parting with it was one of the hardest parts of the move for him. I hope it will be happy with its new adopted family.

Give Peace A Chance

In these final days of packing, Lucy has found solace in bird watching. This morning, her and Mr. Squirrel were having a stare down, not sure who won . . . So to you Mr. S, we offer a cup of seeds for a peaceful farewell. You will be missed by the entire family.

MOLARS!

So our lil' man hasn't been himself lately and today I was brave enough to put my finger in his mouth. Poor thing, he's getting THREE molars! Cantaloupe is the only food he really enjoys right now. We've gone through three in the past two days.

Baby's First Birthday Cake

I made a special nutritious cake for Mr. H's birthday. He almost finished the entire cake, although half of it fell from his mouth. That's our hungry, hungry hippo.

Companions

We've been pretty busy packing so for today's post I'm using a couple of photos from our trip to the zoo. Every once in awhile, we (animals included) need someone to lean on :)

Golden Man

Today on Ryan's last day of work, his co-workers dared him to dress in all gold and stand in the fountain. He's such a trooper.

El Postino

I almost photographed our mail slot in our front door but I think our neighbor's mailbox is neater. I love that he has a dining room chair permanently on his front porch. Anyways, the reason for today's image is to give a "shout out" to our mailman. He carefully delivers our mail on time (unlike our last one who would read our magazines and give them a week later). I told him we were moving and he offered to bring us the moving forms. Now that's service. He'll definitely be missed.

Happy First Birthday!

Happy Birthday Baby! It's amazing how fast this year has flown by. We're SO proud of our little guy and everyday is a new adventure. No words can describe the amount of joy he brings to our lives.

Ant Problem Solved

About two months ago, I noticed this sign only there was a "P" before ANTS. I thought it was kinda cleaver yet I wondered if it was a front for something else. Last week, the "P" somehow disappeared which I find humorous. First, they haven't fixed the sign and second, I wonder if anyone has shown up with ants in their pants.

Happy Easter

Here's our Easter bunny hunting eggs through Lucy's tunnel. If you look close, you'll see how flexible a baby can be.

Guess Who's Back

Mr. S decided the safflower wasn't that great after all. I've never seen a squirrel chomp down on suet. I suppose he deserves a point for this balancing act. For those of you keeping track, Squirrels-3, Harrison-1, and Ryan-negative 1.

Office Assistant

Lucy tends to get pretty nervous each time I relocate (for those keeping count, it's her sixth). Today she's letting me know that she's the perfect office assistant and I can't work without her. She's right and I'll extend her contract.

Mellow Yellow?

I'm guessing this person really loves the color yellow. It's amazing the hue is the exact same for the house as it is for the car. I wonder which came first . . .

Cutest Kids on the Block

I've recently had the pleasure of photographing these three beautiful babies, all of whom will be turning one within the next month. This is one of my favorite ages to photograph, they aren't quite aware of the camera yet.

J-Man has the BEST smile, you can't help but smile back at him. He's quite the explorer and he provides his parents with constant entertainment.

Miss M has the most amazing blue eyes, you have to see her to believe it. You can already tell she's going to be a sweetheart.

Mr. H had a good time during his photo shoot. He's such a trooper, hanging in there while I follow him around with my camera. We're very proud of our lil' guy.

Just Chillin'

Harrison and I met Ryan after work to enjoy more of the cherry blossoms. The blossoms falling to the ground looked like snowflakes. I think he's dreaming of his next meal (check out the belly on the boy).

Cherry Blossom Beauty

I've been waiting all year to photograph the cherry blossoms. As beautiful as they are, this photo doesn't do them justice.

Cascade Mountains

When we first moved here, scenes like this would have us pulling over. "Wow, snow in April", now we keep on driving.

Haircut + Alcohol = Mohawk

Hmm . . . good idea? This isn't an enticing offer for me. There's another place next door with a similar deal. Times are tough.

The Biggest Role of Tape EVER

We've had this gigantic roll of tape for the past two years and have used it for two major relocations. I told Ryan I am done moving once this roll is gone. Well, we're using it again and heading south. I might have to go tape crazy with a few boxes.

A Spool of Thought

I bought a bag of wooden spools and thread at a flea market a couple of years ago. I have them displayed in a glass jar on top of our fridge. I'm not a sewer; I just love the way they look.

No Fooling

My sweetie pie was so thoughtful on April's Fools Day (see above). He's never been one to give flowers on specific holidays but waits until I'm least expecting it. I'm a lucky gal and I love him so much :)
