Plant ID?

Isn't this plant the coolest? It's not bamboo but I'm not sure what it is . . . I asked the museum but now I forget. Anyone know? They stand about 3 feet high.

Snake root!

horsetail reed (not snake root) --super invasive. One of the oldest plants known (funny how they just recently became popular). They spread from their spores (on top) and their extremely long tangling roots. Due to this fact, you cannot get rid of them by pulling or digging. Cannot even be contained in any pot that has a hole or crack (even concrete ones, as they easily can get small cracks). Neighbors won't appreciate the spread of these beautiful reeds. Now, I know I am not going to plant them, so disappointing!
