491 Days

We've survived 491 days with Harrison before making a visit to the doctor's office (except wellness checkups) or Emergency Room. Our streak has now come to an end. Our tough guy suffered (well, I shouldn't say suffered b/c he only cried for 10 seconds) a second degree burn on his pointer finger. After two and a half hours in the ER, they recommended taking him tomorrow to the Burn Unit of the Children's Hospital. I'm still waiting to get an appointment with them. He's a total champ, no complains and was happy to share some grapes with daddy.

You might notice the white "paw" that our son has in place of a right hand. Well it turns out that the "paw" is actually a recessive trait that is starting to show itself. He even has the beginnings of some little claws. They are cute until he rakes them across your face. Be very careful when you see him next time. Very careful.

Exactly what was Harrison pointing at when he got too close? I have lots of stuff in my studio for Mr. H to point at and get the same result. Such a cute kid.

we finally got the entire story way down here in the big city. bless his little heart. so glad it was only one finger and didnt seem to hurt him too badly. seems like i am missing out on his second year too. glad he has a bob and a mimi close by. all children need grandparent love and affection.

Here's the story, H was playing outside by the car (which returned from a trip 5 minutes prior) and burned two of his fingers from the knuckle to the first joint on the tire. I didn't realize anything was wrong until an hour later when it was red and one of them was forming a blister. It bothered us way more than him. The doctor drained the blister on Friday and put a band-aid on it. It scared us but definitely could have been much worse.
