Kitchen Baam!

Sorry for the dark image, it was getting late when I snapped this with my phone. I decided to go with leftover wall paint for el kitchen. It's coming along and both kids are already playing with it. I'm pretty sure Waverly thinks the big whole is a trash can. BTW, I've found random non-trash objects in our regular trash can. H never did anything like this. Just wait til she discovers the toilet!

Baby in the Box

It wouldn't be a trip without a game of Baby in the Box. Those two are quite the characters. They wrestle, pounce, scream and giggle all within a few minutes. This is definitely a pro for having two monkeys! Although Harrison said he would like one more and it should be a boy so he can wrestle with him. Sorry buddy not going to happen ;) Can you tell we're big into wrestling these days?!

Mini Vaca

We took a mini vaca to see Mimi B and the cousins. H admires them so much and luckily he was able to hang with them for the day. I loaded everyone up for craft time at the library. It ended with a lot of running and wrestling. Boys will be boys :)

I really have no idea how she managed to get this scratch the other day. I'm not surprised though.

Her favorite part of Mimi's house is the stairs. Up / down / up / down until I've had enough.

Website Wednesday - London 2012 Olympics

The choice this week is pretty obvious, The Olympics! Click HERE for the official website. I will say I am a bit disappointed in the graphics, just kinda blah. Did you know speed walking is an Olympic sport?!!! Do they run to celebrate? I was also surprised about canoeing and trampolining. What's your favorite sport? The synchronized swimming is pretty cool to watch.

Play Time with H

I found the Mr Potatohead mustache while we were playing Legos...

Me: Do you wish you had a mustache?

H: I have a little one. I have some hairs growing in that area . . . Home Sweet Helicopter.

Harrison likes to "play" tv shows that he likes (Ice Road Truckers, Finding Big Foot, American Pickers). Today it was Pickers and we started out in his room and I would hold up an object.

Me: How much for this one?

H: Can't sell, family owned.

Me: What about this one?

H: Can't because it was from a friend who passed away in the British Columbian War.

Man, I really wanted that piece!

Entertaining 101

Since I quit my full-time job to spend more time with the monkeys I've been trying to come up with fun and creative ways to spend ours days (free helps too). We decided to check out THE TUBES today at a local church. They had a toddler area for W.

But she wanted to climb up high with H . . . so we joined him. I did get a warning from a 7-year-old that one tube "smells really bad, well not that bad, kinda like old pickles." Then he told us as W was trying to climb UP the slide that he's been kicked in the face trying to do that. I found this humorous b/c he had a missing front tooth.

Yee Haw

There's a new sheriff in town. Better watch yourself.

This week's project included painting the frame on my mantle mirror and moving a few things around. I think I got a little carried away on Instagram with this image ;)

Concentration

We celebrated Bob's big birthday at OG and Wavy was quite the lady. She managed to eat the majority of her food with a fork! She has great hand-eye coordination. I think she'll be the athlete in the family.

12 Month Appointment

Miss W had her 12 month appointment today. She's 31.25" tall (96%, what??!!), 19 lbs 4 oz (17%, feels like 20 though) and head 17.5 in (28%). Still a climber. We might have to relocate our coffee table to the shed b/c she keeps climbing on top and dancing on it plus she thinks it's funny when I get her down and move her to the back of the house. After about 10 times, she wore down and moved onto something else. Harrison said she should be Godzilla for Halloween, I think he's onto something.

Posing in the waiting room. He's so silly.

HOT as . . . you know . . .

This is NO JOKE!!! I would never joke about something like this. I really don't know what else to say about this . . . maybe ridiculous?! Seriously???!!!

Website Wednesday - the handmade home

So many blogs, so little time. Today's site is courtesy of Sara! Click HERE for the handmade home. I'm a fan of the font snob postings, it makes my heart flutter with excitement for so many cool free fonts. Check out the handmade hideaway (aka Treehouse) and the ball fringe to curtains. I'm determined to find a room to add the fringe. A must read is "the art of thrifting ten tips on how to score big for you home." Enjoy!

The Hunt

This morning we braved the morning heat and went on a scavenger hunt. Harrison drew the red map and wanted to add an exclamation point to the bottom to show it's importance. He was a little thrown off by litter and wanted me to describe it. Then he said "Oh I thought you were talking about Kitty Litter!"

Little Miss Busy Britches has be where H is. Lately he's been riding his tricycle around the house and she hangs on back. It's really funny. She's been wanting to wrestle with him too. Now that's a sight. They really can go at it but I hear quite a few giggles so it's all in good fun.

PreK Camp

Mr. Big Stuff is leading the way for our morning walk.

H is attending a PreK Camp this week to meet some new friends and his teachers. I remember going to Kindergarten for half a day now the kids start full days for PreK. Do you think it makes that much of a difference? But H is really excited and I guess that's what really matter most to me right now :)

Walking Tall

She's a walking machine! She's still learning to bend her knees so most of the time she reminds me of a zombie or an extra in the Thriller video.

She's also the world's strongest baby. Don't hold her back.

I can't remember if I've blogged about this but I think I need to change her middle name to Trouble. When I tell her she's not supposed to be doing something (i.e. shaking the lamp, throwing objects in the toilet, eating the cat) she looks at me, shakes her head YES over and over then gives me a toothy grin and keeps on doing it. We can't help but smile and laugh every time she does this which is at last 15 times a day!

Play Kitchen Updates

Update time! Sorry the pics aren't the best. I blame it on bad lighting. I broke out the hand sander I got for my birthday and smoothed this baby out (plus it helps the primer stick).

I sent Bob a link to the inspiration I had for my W's kitchen. Ta da, look what he created!

It's starting to come together!!! I live for B&Aa!

The priming is completed. I'm having a really hard time figuring out what color to paint it . . . yellow? green? teal? orange? purple? pink? white? blue?

I found this beauty at Goodwill for 2 bucks. I love the shape. I'm going to make it into a chalkboard for the side of the kitchen. Or maybe I'll keep the ducks . . . JK!

Da Zoo!

Since I'm not working full-time and Harrison's summer program is finished, I've been trying to figure out ways to entertain these two. It's still really hot here so we try to head out early in the morning when places are opening plus it beats the crowds. Today we stopped by the zoo to see the new African cheetahs.

This groundhog was SOOO funny. It kept scratch on the glass and trying to bite his way out. Groundhog for a pet? I don't think so, sorry guy.

We were looking at an empty area for the Southeast Asian cheetahs . . .

Me: I guess they are sleep.

H: Yeah, they must be tired. Asian is REALLY far away!

Cart and Papaya

Here's the latest shopping cart pic. Check out H's shirt. It's his favorite and very popular amongst 4-year-olds. I think 4 boys in his class had it and he would get super excited whenever Nate was wearing it too :)

It's papaya season! Found this beauty a the store today. Neither kid would touch it. They didn't seem to mind when I snuck it in their food.

Website Wednesday - Lego

Duh, Lego for Website Wednesday, I can't believe I haven't use this sooner! Click HERE for it. There are couple of fun games that Harrison has played and the site is pretty cool too. Have you seen the new Hobbit Lego Sets? There's one for every chapter.

Click HERE to see the 20,000 Lego pieces made into Star Wars barrel organ. It's insane!

Air Fresher

I read about a homemade air fresher with lemon, rosemary and vanilla. I had everything on hand so I thought I'd try it. Not that great, plus a dirty diaper has a more powerful scent ;)

This is one of my favorite pics from the party. She's so lovable. Thanks Bridget for photographing!

The First Party

I decided on a Hungry Caterpillar theme thanks to Pinterest. I designed this invitation for the birthday girl.

I want to give a special thanks to my mom and mother-in-law, I couldn't have pulled it off without them!

It was an afternoon affair so we went with fruit and cupcakes. I found this fabric at Hancock's and it has that Eric Carle look.

I made extra cupcakes that were sugar and egg free in case any of the other youngins' wanted to try.

Instead of party favors (which are hard for one-year-olds), I decided to create a handprint / art station.

Ohh, it's Nana, Ryan and Mimi B!

Bob and Mimi posing with the party girl.

Waverly is so lucky to have a great-grandmother who would crawl on the floor with her!

Pink Bear makes us both happy.

Trying to get a good hand print can be difficult but Austin and Betsy hung in there.

Abigail is at the perfect age for this project. Summer wanted no part of it :)

Cake time! It cracks me up that she's using a spoon and fork.

Beckett and Annie joining in on the fun.

The aqua babies growing up so fast. Waverly looks like she's about partied out.
